- making the setting in a shopping mall/center
- romance/ chick flick
- the actresses are all different but attractive in their own ways
- each girl has a specific style and dress sense
- the actor is a male teenage heart throb
Our film subverted the generic conventions of a chick flick by changing around the actor/actresses to make our film opening about difference in race and cultures as well. Our film opening represents social groups such as; women, youth, working class, middle class and genders. The ethnic minority of Asian Bengali boys and girls in the film opening has positive representations.
